Founder & CEO
Adnan brings 24 years of experience in hearing aid innovations and startups. He started his medical device career developing pacemaker programming systems. He later joined ReSound, then a start-up developing the first programmable hearing aids and hearing fitting systems. Resound completed an IPO in 1992. He later founded InSound Medical, where he invented and developed the Lyric hearing device; currently the world's smallest and only extended wear hearing product. InSound was acquired by Sonova in 2010. Adnan holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara and M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Texas.
Chief Operating Officer
John brings over 25 years of executive management experience in hearing health. He is a veteran of the hearing aid industry with a proven track record of leading start-up and established hearing healthcare companies, including InSound Medical, ReSound, Unitron, Bernafon and Sonic Innovations. Most recently, he founded and sold Luna Family Hearing, a retail chain of 15 audiology and hearing aid centers offering premium hearing aid products. John’s extensive range of management experiences in hearing health spans manufacturing operations, wholesale sales and distribution, Audiology, Otorhinolaryngology (ENT), and marketing to baby boomers. John holds a B.A. in Audiology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Chief Business Officer
Dean brings 25 over years of experience in healthcare business development, strategic planning, marketing, sales and finance in a broad range including medical technology, medical/pharmaceutical distribution, life science in start-ups as well as large pharma and medical device firms. Prior to his recent CEO role in Silicon Valley, he held senior management positions including at Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, and McKesson. Dean holds a BS in Biology and MBA from Rutgers University.
Director of Quality & Regulatory Affairs
Marika brings over 25 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs and Clinical Validation in various medical device settings, from startup to fortune 500 operations in US, EU and Asia operations. She successfully secured complex FDA approvals for de novo medical devices such as the Lyric™- the first and only extended wear hearing device, and the iHearTest™- the first and only home hearing screener. She has held senior management positions at InSound Medical, ORAL-B (Gillette Company), Abbott Labs and PFIZER Laboratories. Marika holds a B.S. in Biology & Chemistry from City College of New York.
Chief Innovation & IP Officer
Varun brings 10 years of engineering and IP experience, shaping innovation strategy, managing intellectual property portfolios, and aligning legal interests with business objectives. He has worked with Smiths Detection, Chevron, DLA Piper, and Dorsey & Whitney. Varun holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from UC Santa Barbara, a M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from USC, and a JD from UC Hastings College of Law.
