I’ve been wearing my new EVAs for about six weeks, and they put my previous extremely expensive hearing aids to shame. They’re smaller, so they’re not noticeable, even though my hair is shorter. They fit more securely, so I don’t have to worry about losing them (I’ve lost at least two hearing aids over the years). They’re adjustable, so I can turn them down or up. That wasn’t an option with my $6,000 hearing aids. Just as important, they’re support is great, I wish they were available on weekends but when I did connect with them to make adjustments, they were extremely helpful.
I was diagnosed with acute hearing loss at the age of 46 and while I was depressed at the fact that I had hearing loss at such a young age it was made worse when I had to spend $7k on a pair of Oticons. While they made a dramatic difference, I was severely set back financially and as a single mother on a teachers salary, it made life very difficult. Fast forward 3 years and my Oticons were not as effective as they were when I first purchased them. Apparently, that is the average lifespan of all hearing aids and my Audiologist suggested that I would need to replace them soon. I was devastated that I had to dip into my retirement to pay another $7k.
I came across iHEAR and because of my hearing loss being severe, I was skeptical they would work. With the trial period, it made total sense to try. They worked amazing! They are just as effective as my Oticons but at 10% of the cost. Not only did I save thousands, they work amazing! If you have an audiogram, I recommend sending them your audiogram for pre-programming. Kudos!!!!
